About Noon o Namak
Noon o Namak is a tiny, home-based kitchen in Calgary dedicated to one thing:
slow-cooked, comforting Persian ash made fresh each day from a single shared pot. We cook in small batches, open a limited number of portions, and stop when the pot is empty.
Our story
“Noon o namak” literally means “bread and salt”—a Persian expression for sharing food, trust, and friendship.
This project started as a way to bring the taste of home-style ash reshteh to friends and neighbours in Calgary. Instead of a big restaurant menu, we focus on just one dish and try to make it the way we’d serve it to guests at our own table: generous, warm, and full of flavour.
What we make
Our signature dish is Ash Reshteh, a hearty Persian stew with:
- slow-cooked herbs, beans, and noodles
- traditional toppings of kashk, crispy fried onions, and aromatic mint oil
- fresh bread and a little salt shaker as our complimentary gift
Everything is cooked from scratch in one daily pot and served in different bowl sizes so you can order just enough for yourself, to share, or for the whole family.
How it works
1- Check the Menu
Go to the Menu page, choose your bowl size(s), and add any extra toppings or bread.
2- Place your order & choose pickup time
You’ll see available pickup slots at checkout. Because we cook from a single pot, quantities are limited and some times may sell out.
3- Pick up your ash
Come to our pickup point in Calgary at your selected time, and we’ll have your bowls packed and ready.
(Use the address and directions shown at checkout.)
